A Venezuelan journalist with four decades of media experience has earned recognition among Forbes Founders’ list of 15 outstanding entrepreneurs for 2025. Carlos Camargo, who describes himself as a “happiness manager,” joins notable business leaders including Grant Cardone, Daniella Pierson, and Angela Benton on the prestigious roster.
The Forbes Founders publication highlighted entrepreneurs who have “built powerful brands, forged disruptive business models, and… have done so with clarity, courage, and perseverance.” The recognition marks a significant milestone for Camargo, whose career has evolved from traditional journalism to children’s literature and wellness publishing.
Camargo’s latest venture into children’s books centers on “Beto’s Adventures,” featuring a cheerful crocodile character who embodies values including honesty, respect, tolerance, responsibility, and kindness. The book represents a departure from his extensive background in entertainment journalism, which began in 1984 with Caracas-based magazines “Momento” and “Bohemia.”
Throughout his career, the happiness management expert has held executive positions at prominent Venezuelan publications including “Ronda,” “Venezuela Farándula,” and “Variedades.” Since 1991, he has overseen editorial production for El Nacional’s magazines “Feriado” and “Pandora” while managing public relations for Latin music icons Celia Cruz and Oscar D’ León, among others.
His weekly column “Camargo Notas” ran for 25 years in the newspaper 2001, and he recently launched “Viral y candente” on La Patilla.com. Adding to his credentials, Camargo recently completed certification in “Sciences of Happiness” from Berkeley University and plans to pursue further studies at Harvard.
“This recognition is a reminder that dreams are built with constant work, passion, and faith,” Camargo shared on his Instagram account. “If every word I write changes, even if it’s a life for the better, I’ve accomplished my task.”
The Venezuelan author and wellness advocate has published 12 books focused on happiness and well-being since his first title, “Happy and Unattached,” appeared in 2022. His publishing company plans to release additional titles in 2025, along with a calendar designed to bring the Beto character to schools and daycare centers.
The Forbes Founders list also includes entrepreneurs Scot Chisholm, Travis Montaque, Camille Fournier, Derrius Quarles, Sarah Kauss, Ben Chestnut, Dan Kurzius, Isaiah Turner, Adeo Ressi, Jessica Ewing, and Kristen Kish, representing diverse industries from technology to hospitality.
Camargo’s inclusion on the list reflects his successful transition from traditional media roles to entrepreneurship in the happiness and wellness publishing sector. His multifaceted career demonstrates how media professionals can leverage their storytelling expertise to create meaningful content across different platforms and audiences.
