Premium cannabis retailer The Travel Agency has expanded its New York City footprint with the grand opening of a new location in Soho at 598 Broadway. This marks the brand’s fourth retail outlet in the city, joining existing stores in Union Square (835 Broadway), Downtown Brooklyn (122 Flatbush Ave.), and Fifth Avenue (587 Fifth Ave.).
The new Soho store continues The Travel Agency’s tradition of offering customers premium cannabis products from leading local and national brands, with expert budtenders available to guide shoppers through their purchase decisions.
Since first launching in February 2023, The Travel Agency has worked to redefine cannabis retail by combining innovative design, cultural relevance, and community engagement in its store experiences. The Soho location takes this vision further by incorporating sculptural art, architectural innovation, and functional cannabis pieces throughout the space.
“As part of our mission to create retail experiences worth sightseeing, The Travel Agency has expanded to SoHo, one of New York’s most iconic cultural destinations. Long associated with boundary-pushing artists like Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat, the neighborhood’s creative legacy serves as key inspiration for the brand’s newest location,” said Arana Hankin-Biggers, President & Co-Founder, The Travel Agency. “The SoHo store is The Travel Agency’s most art-forward space to date, featuring custom installations and original art works that explore the intersection of cannabis and creativity. With this opening, The Travel Agency proudly continues the tradition of art, culture, and innovation that defines this neighborhood.”
The store’s distinctive design emerged from collaborations with several creative partners. Leong Leong Architecture brought a minimalist-futurist aesthetic with a “space” concept, while Big Heavy Studios contributed custom fabrication elements positioning cannabis as part of cultural and artistic expression. The space also features a kinetic art installation by Andrew Zolty of BREAKFAST.
“The Travel Agency’s flagship in SoHo draws from the legacy of downtown Manhattan’s experimental art spaces— environments where lines between culture and commerce and art and everyday life have often blurred. Today, retail experience is more than a transaction but an intersection of hospitality, culture, and curation,” said Leong Leong. “Evolving the design language for this SoHo location, we developed a luminous, arcing ceiling that sweeps across the space, casting a soft glow over a constellation of curated vitrines. It’s part exhibition display and part travel lounge.”
A highlight of the new location is a curated Bong Gallery showcasing functional cannabis art created by artists Serena Confalonieri and Juan Manuel Carmona.
Like its sister locations, the Soho store operates under New York’s Social and Economic Equity (SEE) program, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to community reinvestment and social equity initiatives.
