Nicola Salter remembers the moment she understood what female authority looked like. At age six, she watched Queen Elizabeth II walk into Westminster Abbey for the Knights of the Garter ceremony—the only woman among a sea of male dignitaries. That image stayed with her through her own career navigating male-dominated business environments in London, working with organizations like the BBC and even politicians like Margaret Thatcher.
Now based in Los Angeles after nearly three decades, Salter has built a practice that’s reached more than 18,000 women worldwide. Her new book, “Finding Your Queen: A Woman’s Guide to Living Raw, Flawed & Brilliant,” distills what she’s learned from thousands of one-on-one sessions with thought leaders, executives, and entrepreneurs who’ve achieved conventional success but still feel something’s missing.
From Clinical Work to Corporate Programs
Salter’s approach blends neuroscience, energy medicine, and what she calls “ancient wisdom”—a combination she developed after studying under a leading British naturopathic doctor, and many schools and mentors teaching holistic medicine. Through her empowerment and reinvention coaching practice, reDefine Yourself Coaching, she’s designed programs that have shown measurable impact: her work with Crusades 22, a nonprofit supporting Navy Seal veterans, achieved a 60% reduction in PTSD symptoms, and 85% of her private clients experiencing reduction and improved management of overwhelm, limiting beliefs and improved mindset.
Her reach extends beyond private clients. She’s created corporate wellness programs for organizations including, Saint John’s Center for Health, Quigley Simpson Advertising and wellness presentations for Pepperdine, Toyota, World Tea Expo, to name a few. During the pandemic, she maintained anxiety and stress management services for two years, helping senior management and staff cope with isolation and burnout at the Missing Peace Center for Anxiety.
A Different Framework for Success
Her book arrives at a moment when many high-achieving women are questioning what success actually means. Salter’s message challenges the idea that women need to work exactly like men to succeed. Instead, she focuses on what she calls “values-based alignment”—helping women build careers and businesses that reflect their actual priorities rather than external expectations.

Her mindset transformation programs combine personal narratives with practical exercises, scientific insights, and journal reflections. Over 150 female entrepreneurs participated in her 12-week programs between 2022 and 2024, working to identify limiting beliefs and create new business directions.
Salter has also built a following through her podcast “Your Unique Brilliance,” recently voted one of the 20 Best British Female Podcasts. She’s been featured on platforms including Shriver Media, HGTV, and iHeartRadio, and has spoken at events like The Ultimate Women’s Expo and the Los Angeles Times Health Festival.
The book’s central premise is simple but pointed: the person you’ve been searching for is already within you. For Salter, women’s leadership coaching isn’t about transformation in the sense of becoming someone new—it’s about reconnecting with who you already are beneath the roles and expectations you and society have created. After working with thousands of women across industries, she’s convinced that reinvention isn’t about starting over. It’s about alignment with your values.
